SENSEX TIPS | NIFTY TIPS

Sensex ends 290 points higher, Nifty closes above 9200 for the first time; L&T up 5%

Trading in the green zone throughout the day, the market closed the day at record levels, driven by a rally in index heavyweights Reliance Industries, L&T, among others.

The Nifty closed above the 9200-mark for the first time ever, while the Sensex is now just 100 points away from 30,000-mark.

Indices witnessed a sharp surge in the last few hours of trade, pushing them at higher levels.

The Sensex was up 289.72 points at 29910.22, while the Nifty was up 64.10 points at 9237.85. The market breadth was healthy as 2,073 shares advanced against a decline of 819 shares, while 125 shares were unchanged.

L&T, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Reliance were the top gainers on both indices, while Bharti Airtel, Wipro and BPCL were top losers.

निफ्टी 9075 के आसपास, सेंसेक्स करीब 100 अंक गिरा

हफ्ते की शुरुआत घरेलू बाजारों के लिए कमजोरी के साथ हुई है। सेंसेक्स और निफ्टी में 0.25 फीसदी से ज्यादा की कमजोरी नजर आ रही है। एशियाई बाजारों में दबाव के चलते घरेलू बाजारों पर असर हुआ है। कमजोरी के इस माहौल में निफ्टी 9075 के करीब आ गया है, जबकि सेंसेक्स में 100 अंकों तक की गिरावट दिख रही है।

मिडकैप और स्मॉलकैप शेयरों में थोड़ी खरीदारी नजर आ रही है। बीएसई का मिडकैप इंडेक्स 0.25 फीसदी तक बढ़ा है, जबकि निफ्टी के मिडकैप 100 इंडेक्स में 0.1 फीसदी की मामूली बढ़त दर्ज की गई है। बीएसई का स्मॉलकैप इंडेक्स 0.25 फीसदी तक मजबूत हुआ है।

फार्मा, मेटल और एफएमसीजी शेयरों में सबसे ज्यादा बिकवाली का दबाव है। निफ्टी के फार्मा, मेटल और एफएमसीजी इंडेक्स में 0.5 फीसदी की गिरावट दर्ज की गई है। बैंक निफ्टी 0.15 फीसदी गिरकर 21,095 के आसपास है। हालांकि पीएसयू बैंकों और कंज्यूमर ड्युरेबल्स शेयरों में थोड़ी खरीदारी आई है।

फिलहाल बीएसई का 30 शेयरों वाला प्रमुख इंडेक्स सेंसेक्स 92 अंक यानि 0.3 फीसदी की गिरावट के साथ 29,329 के स्तर पर कारोबार कर रहा है। वहीं एनएसई का 50 शेयरों वाला प्रमुख इंडेक्स निफ्टी 33 अंक यानि 0.4 फीसदी गिरकर 9,075 के स्तर पर कारोबार कर रहा है।

The latest COT data recorded an increase in non-commercial, long gold positions to 123,763 in the latest week.

Silver Trading range for the day is 43144-43714. Silver remained in range as market players looked ahead to U.S. President Trump’s address to Congress on Tuesday for further details on his promises of tax reform. Investors also looked ahead to a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen on Friday for further hints on the timing of the next U.S. rate hike. In addition, market players will keep an eye out on a revised reading of fourth-quarter U.S. growth data on Tuesday to gauge the strength of the economy.

Naturalgas trading range for the day is 188.1-196.3. Natural gas prices fell for the third straight week, setting a three-month low as a historically mild winter continues to drag on the market. The U.S. Energy Information Administration said in its weekly report that natural gas storage in the U.S. declined by 114 billion cubic feet. That compared with a withdrawal of 152 billion cubic feet in the preceding week, 163 billion a year earlier .

Gold Trading range for the day is 28822-29262. Gold pared gains as dollar advanced after U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said the central bank will likely need to raise interest rates. Richmond Fed President Jeffrey Lacker said the U.S. central bank will likely have to raise rates faster than financial markets currently expects. U.S. producer prices recorded their largest gain in more than four years in January amid increases in the cost of energy products.

Silver Trading range for the day is 41864-43196. Silver settled flat after Fed’s Yellen told Congress that waiting too long to raise interest rates would be “unwise” as economic growth continues and inflation rises. The Federal Reserve will likely need to raise interest rates at an upcoming meeting, Yellen said. Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan said the U.S. central bank should act soon to raise rates, or risk having to abandon its plan to do so slowly.
